texttospeechsoftware.net earns commissions when you purchase through links on this site. This is clearly labeled on every review and comparison page with "(affiliate)" or "sponsored" link attributes. We are required to disclose this under FTC guidelines (US) and ASA guidelines (UK).

Commission never affects editorial verdict. Our scores, "skip if" verdicts, and honest alternative callouts are based on independent testing, not on which tools pay more. We call out ElevenLabs' cost cliff and recommend cheaper alternatives at scale even though ElevenLabs affiliates pay higher commissions than Inworld or Amazon Polly.

Testing methodology

All reviews and comparisons are based on:

  • Active accounts on each platform at the relevant tier
  • Standardized text corpus: 500-word WSJ-style paragraph, 90-second conversational script, 300-word emotional monologue, 150-word IVR prompt
  • Latency measurements via curl timing headers against streaming endpoints, run 20 times per test
  • MOS scores from a 25-listener blinded panel (MTurk) using the same corpus, March–May 2026
  • Pricing verified against vendor pricing pages and documentation as of the "Last verified" date on each page

Voice cloning consent disclaimer

Pages covering voice cloning features describe technology that can be misused. Cloning a voice without the speaker's explicit written consent is illegal in most jurisdictions under Right-of-Publicity laws (US) and GDPR Article 9 (EU biometric data), and violates every major vendor's Terms of Service. We do not endorse or assist with non-consensual voice cloning.

Accessibility claims

When we describe TTS tools as helpful for dyslexia, ADHD, or low vision, we mean they reduce reading fatigue and support text consumption — not that they treat or cure any condition. Peer-reviewed evidence on comprehension gains is cited where available.

Privacy

We collect email addresses only via the optional lead magnet form. We use them only for the promised content delivery and periodic updates about this site. We do not sell or share email data. You can unsubscribe at any time. Emails are processed in accordance with GDPR for EU residents.
